Monthly Meeting: Catching swarms (in person and on Zoom)

  • 12 May 2022
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • The Source Church, 505 E Clarendon St. Gladstone OR 97027

So you want to catch some swarms? What does it entail? What equipment might be helpful or necessary to have? What questions to ask when a call comes in? Tricks of the trade and some situations you might find yourself in. Spend an hour and probably a bit more with 15 year veteran swarm catcher

Christine Kurtz who loves the thrill of catching swarms, who fills her apiaries at minimal cost, and who can’t wait to share it all with you.

Christine spends most of her time as a mentor helping beekeepers become better beekeepers while encouraging beekeepers to restock and share their bees locally. A past Sonoma County Beekeepers Association President and long-standing board member of the organization, Christine is a social entrepreneur that helped create localized communities within the Sonoma County Beekeepers’ Association to facilitate education, connections between beekeepers, sharing of resources and involvement in local schools and events.
